About the Event:
A Day With… is an annual event from the South Sound Planned Giving Council (SSPGC), bringing nationally recognized thought leaders in charitable giving and philanthropy to the South Sound. Each year, we’ll spotlight a visionary speaker to inform, inspire, and equip professionals across nonprofit and advisory sectors.
This year’s featured guest is: Pamela Jones Davidson, J.D.
Pamela Jones Davidson, J.D., is a nationally recognized leader in charitable gift planning and the President of Davidson Gift Design, a consulting firm specializing in planned giving program development and implementation.
With more than three decades of experience working alongside nonprofits, attorneys, and financial advisors, Pamela is known for helping organizations translate complex charitable planning strategies into practical conversations that donors understand and act on. A former examiner in the IRS Estate & Gift Tax Division and past President of the National Committee on Planned Giving (now the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners), she was inducted into the NCGP Hall of Fame in 2018.
Pamela has presented nationally to development professionals, estate planning attorneys, and financial planners, and is widely respected for her engaging, pragmatic approach to legacy giving — equipping nonprofit teams to move beyond theory and confidently incorporate planned giving into everyday donor conversations.

Featured Sessions Include:
Planned Giving Sans Resources – A Practical Plan for Doing Something
Designed for organizations with limited staff or dedicated fundraising infrastructure, this session offers a practical, step-by-step roadmap for initiating planned giving conversations using existing relationships and community partnerships. Attendees will leave with a realistic two-year action plan outlining specific roles for staff, board members, and volunteers.
Cues and Clues: What Prospects and Clients Tell You and What You Need to Say Then
This session helps development professionals recognize common donor concerns that often signal readiness for a legacy gift and offers practical language for responding in real time. Participants will learn how to move beyond cash-based giving conversations by introducing non-cash gift options aligned with a donor’s life stage and philanthropic goals.
Case Studies
Through four real-life client scenarios, this session explores how charitable planning strategies can address complex financial and family considerations while maximizing tax efficiency. Attendees will gain insight into how thoughtful planning can help donors transfer or liquidate assets in ways that meet personal, family, and charitable objectives.
