The Leave 10 Mission…

The mission of Leave 10 South Sound is to build better, stronger communities and to encourage individuals to become more philanthropic by educating, inspiring, and encouraging them to invest 10% of their estate back into their community through the charities and causes they support.

This concept of leaving 10% to the causes you care about has been around for many years.  It connotes an act above our self-interests that can create a positive addition to society which will improve the lives of those that come after us 10, 20, even 50 years from now

That is the power of the word IMAGINE.

The Leave 10 South Sound core message compliments the purpose that created South Sound Planned Giving Council in 2005 and its predecessor study groups starting in 1992.

SSPGC is proud to be a leader of this initiative, working closely with the non-profits and professional advisors in Pierce, Thurston and other South Sound counties.  Our goal is to introduce the initiative and Leave 10 materials to the general public. South Sound non-profits and professional advisors can use these pieces to help individuals realize that they will have an impact on the South Sound if they participate.

Signing onto the initiative makes you a Leave 10 Champion.  Whether you are a non-profit professional or professional advisor, you add your voice and flavor to the mix.  But the ultimate result is that your donors and clients begin to realize that they can help create a better tomorrow for their family, their friends and thousands of people yet unborn.

Each of us works daily to improve the work done through our non-profit or the individual advising we diligently do to improve our client’s situation and help them achieve their goals.  But it is seldom, if ever, that we have the opportunity to be involved in an initiative that can affect an entire region.  Leave 10 South Sound allows you to be part of something bigger than ourselves, bigger than a single non-profit, bigger than any organization – our actions, when pooled together will show that we are part of that much bigger community and see beyond just ourselves and our organizations.

You’ll see below what it means to be a Leave 10 Champion, either as a non-profit or an allied professional advisors.  Help spread the word. Get enthusiastic, talk to your clients, your family, neighbors, business associates. All of us can leave 10%.  What a difference that will make.
